The meal was sort of a Korean adaptation of the shabu shabu. I realised that their serving size is a tad bigger than those normally served in SG. Thankfully we had the help of the waitresses in teaching us what to do with our food, we had no idea when to put what in. Nonetheless, the food was good ESPECIALLY Ginseng Chicken Soup. LOVE IT LOVE LOVE LOVE

We strolled and went shopping around in Myeong-dong and took a cab to the COEX Mall. We had planned to visit the sea aquarium thing that I researched online!

 photo P7312720.jpg

COEX kinda reminds me of Suntec City as it is sort of a multi-use area/land. COEX mall is only part of the property of COEX. There are still exhibition halls, etc. Anyway, was a bit disappointed to see that COEX was undergoing renovation! But what excites me the most would prolly be the fact that it was near Gangnam LOLLOL *cues Gangnam Style*

Had to walk quite a distance there, and it was pretty crowded for a weekday, packed with busy parents and crying/yelling kids. I guess everyone wanted to visit the sea aquarium as well.

Walking...

photo P7312730.jpg And when we reached the SEA aquarium, we realised that the tickets are so exorbitantly priced! I really couldn't see the value of paying so much just to look at fishes. Prolly cheaper if go SG's S.E.A Aquarium instead. In the end we took some self-patronising pictures of the entrance LOLOL and leftttttttt

We went shopping and exploring the place, mainly. Turns out the area also included hotels and casinos! So, wanting to try our luck, we made our way there...

photo P7312736.jpg BUT we couldn't enter coz we didn't bring our identification/passport. Who knew?! Anyway we went to eat late lunch/early dinner and chatted quite a while.

Went back to Myeong-dong! Didn't manage to finish shopping there since that morning/previous night

Accidental shot that captured a pretty girl. Chio!

By then we were super hungry but wanted to rest our feet so we went to this cafe that we thought was the cat cafe, and got duped after we realised but too late! Rested at this cosy place before heading back to the hotel.

Was feeling super hungry thereafter so bought Korean ramen at a convenience store!

We ended the night early, because we had to wake up at 5am... (next post will tell you why)

Okay its 2.17am. Sorry if I sound a bit delirious in this post coz im super tired and I wonder why I am blogging when im so sleepy. Seriously my eyes liddis -.-

K o r e a 0 1

Okay, I totally have no idea how to blog about this trip, since

1. I don't have ALL the photos (Some is in LW's phone/camera I think)
2. I can't remember what I did in in each day? It's been 1.5 months ago + STM (Okay omg at this point im like 'how many days did i go again?')

Anyway. Giving you a heads up. Imma try to blog about Day 1 and if I totally still can't remember then I'll just blog according to venue. I've been trying to blog about this for quite a while now, but my vaio laptop shut down on me and I took some time to get used to a Mac. I'm so much better with windows!

Not forgetting the fact that I've been busy working + hanging out with my sisters (yay!) but I decided once and for all i need to get my butt on the chair (sofa) and blog before I totally lose the mood and go all STM on this trip and I can't remember the details (albeit little by now) when Future Me read the archives!

So, this was an impromptu trip, again. Wanted to go to Taiwan at first but it was the typhoon season. Hence, we settled for South Korea! Was quite excited (as usual) coz I'm exploring a new country for the first time! Plus I wasn't THAT unfamiliar with the culture, with the Kpop Hallyu wave going on here in SG. Kdramas + variety shows addiction = enough knowledge to require lesser research and planning.

Sorry for the rant. I miss typing aka talking to myself!

(Update: Managed to get some photos from LW so I updated a couple of new photos - not much actually. I realised I've yet to get photos from my mom & HL omggg)

Feeling super touristy and thirsty so we just went to a random convenience store and grabbed random drinks, greeting the store uncle with our fail korean lol. If you wanna know, the drink tasted really... well i don't like it.

Transiting to Seoul was imo, quite tedious, although the system is considered fairly quick and efficient. We had to take an airport express to seoul and take transport from there to our hotel. The language barrier also made it more difficult to locate our hotel as it was quite well hidden. Finally reached Myeong-dong though. Total traveling time took around 3 hours?

(Hotel View)

Got distracted by some street snack.. It's sweet potato! (Goguma.. right? pshhh)

 photo IMG_3737.jpg

Okay, then we went to have dinner? (It's 7.45pm in the clock lol) Again, walked into a random restaurant with NO idea what they sold so we ended up not knowing what we are eating. I asked the owner, he said the dish is called chu-something (can't remember). Octopus is the main dish. We had to remove our shoes and also wore cute aprons to prevent our clothes from getting soiled.

 photo IMG_3748.jpg

Someone who knows hangul tell me what I ate please. We had the medium (KRW 20,000) and the serving size was hugeeee

Explored Myeong-dong for a bit and ate like a couple more street snacks before calling it a day.

This post was rather short. But there are a lot of photos. Okay I'll churn out day 2 soon. I'm heading to bed soon, its 1.14am I NEED MY SLEEP
