Healthier Lifestyle

After a very severe procrastination (used to be unable to wake up in the morning to jog for THREE weeks in a row), I FINALLY went for a jogging session. The last time I probably ran was for my NAPFA test during senior year at Temasek Polytechnic. I passed the timing but my stamina sucks. Can't run non-stop, and I will start to walk (fast) if I get stitches.

Anyway I managed to run for 3km yesterday. Sadly I didn't run for ALL 3km. Walked a bit, ran for a bit. I perspired so much that it started dripping from my face. I haven't felt so healthy for a long time. Prolly will get my sisters to play badminton with me next week.

I realised that I am REALLY not a healthy person. From my eating to sleeping habits, I am a total fail. So I'm trying to get a bit of healthy back into my life. I'm only 21, need to start developing healthy habits.

Oh shit hell I just ate a full Mcdonald meal. Wow, I am really determined. Hahaha

Anyway I stretched my legs after my jog to prevent/reduce the aching, but my muscles are still aching a bit. It's not really bad, but when I walk my legs go all stiff and it looks like i am marching lol. I'm serious my mom was asking why I was walking so weirdly and that it was ungraceful for a girl lol! Anyway when I climb the stairs my legs feel funny and I will start smiling or laughing to myself cos the sensation is a bit fuzzy and weird. Me go loco already.

Btw the sports shoes aren't even mine! I borrowed from my mom. Zzzzz

And yes i did not attend a WHOLE week of night class and have not been revising AT ALL. Okay I declare study week next week!

Why we shout in Anger

A Hindu saint who was visiting river Ganges to take bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other. He turned to his disciples smiled and asked.

'Why do people shout in anger shout at each other?'

Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, 'Because we lose our calm, we shout.'

'But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.' asked the saint

Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.
Finally the saint explained, .

'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance.

What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either non-existent or very small...'

The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'

He looked at his disciples and said.

'So when you argue do not let your hearts get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more, Or else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return.'

Tampopo

Met the girls before Cheryl left for UK that week. It was so hard to meet up, with my impromptu trip to GZ and all. But I was glad that we finally did. We are like the 3 dummies who didn't know our way around anywhere so it was hilarious. Had dinner at Tampopo and it was good, will definitely visit next time. Finally we took photos and got freaked out by the ghost effect which brought us laughing to tears. Such a fun night with food and laughter. Will miss them and hope to meet them soon :)

Guangzhou w Dad

Just came back from Thailand after a week, my dad called on a tuesday and asked if we wanna go GZ on Thursday. Yes another spontaneous trip. Said yes immediately and tickets and hotels were settled by dad. Had some hesitation as to whether we were REALLY going on thursday as Dad had problems finding a flight to 石家庄 (Capital of Hebei Province) for a business trip. But he managed to find a way, which was to fly on wednesday evening. So yeah..  we took Jetstar @ Terminal 1!

In a way this looks so simple to figure but I AM SO INTRIGUED BY IT. I can't stop staring I really cant. It's fascinating! Okay everything is fascinating because I seldom take a flight to Terminal 1.

Yep took a 4 hour night flight. It was one of the trips which we slept totally well the night before (assumed trip was on thursday instead of wednesday so didnt had insomnia due to too much excitement) and we were totally bored on the plane. Slept a wee bit though.

Went to the same hotel as before - 如家快捷酒店. It was quite small thus hard to find the way there. Had some difficulties reaching the hotel, met a dishonest cab driver but luckily we got there eventually. Had cup noodles for supper as it was already midnight and it tasted so bland. THANK GOD for that because the seasoning didn't smell good.

Dad's plan was to leave alone the next day but he ended up postponing the trip a day later to save time due to the inconvenient flight time. Anyway, he was off to business stuff in GZ anyway so we just explored the place ourselves since it was my sisters third time there and my second time already. Impression of GZ is still the same - they speak mainly cantonese and mandarin, and they are quite rude actually from my perspective. Said thank you to most of the vendors but success rate is 0%. In the end you just don't bother already. And they just like to push/shove people around like it's nothing. I guess it's their culture? If you don't buy from their shop that's it they just give you a black face. Some will still mutter under their breathe and nag you. Yeah.. and you must be super dare to bargain because they mark up price to tourists more than 50%! HORRIBLE. But their price SUPER CHEAP EVEN CHEAPER THAN THAILAND OMGGGG We spent that day shopping and walking around for a while, and went to arcade.

HERE IS  THE BIG BIG  广场!! Many malls built around it and there were many stalls open from our hotel area to the mall and hence there was a lot to shop! It was SUPER hot even the wind that was blowing was making me sweat like crazy!

Yeah saw another filming squad that day.

Arcade so damn bloody cheap, 40 tokens for SGD4! The normal rate is about 3 tokens per game (Max) so yes I was just so bloody happy. We could spend a good 2 hours playing inside!  I think we played the arcade a couple of times and tried house of the dead. Because among my sisters I suck at Time Crisis Im proud to say Im good at House of the Dead *tears*

Anyway we spend the day shopping and rested at Pizza hut for a short tea-break before meeting dad in the evening. Yes we bought matching rings!

Dad took us to 岗顶站 via metro to this local shopping mall, equivalent to BHG or Isetan in Singapore. Clothes were going on a 90% sale!?!?!? I haven't seen it in SG yet lol and yes we went crazy

Wanted to have the hotel buffet within the hotel - 3SGD per person but we didnt wake up early, enough, but we managed to have it the next day though!  It wasn't grand, but it was sufficient. We had a good meal, talking and binging lol

Saw a scratchcard booth and we went there to try our luck. costs like SGD 2 per card and since it's for a good cause, why not? Liwen and I kept winning back the SGD 2 so we ended up scratching a lot cards! LW got like 5 times the vendor got a bit irritated cos we keep calling him. (Can't remember which day it was...second day i think)

We were so early that we had to wait for the malls to open. Meanwhile we walked around and this jewellery shop - Luk Fook is opening YET another branch so we went to see the lion dance ceremony

It was so draggy we left halfway lol

Oh there was Saizeriya there so we ate there for 3 times? LOL it was good, possibly better than Singapore. They didn't have the chicken stew and i didn't dare try the escargots there though. Oh and DEFINITELY cheaper than in Singapore. We ordered so much and it always comes down to about SGD 20 TOTAL BILL

Yeah had so much clams i am gonna just abstain from it for a while now..

We had mani-pedi and we turned in early, and slacked at the hotel. The red ice tea is a MUST BUY because it's so damn good we drank like 5 bottles for 2 days! Crazy. Anyway dad suggested going to Macau and postpone our flight back but im like nooo flight tickets expensive so yeah..

It was either a saturday or friday night and there was SO MANY PEOPLE

Dad dropped us off to 状元坊 the last day for some last minute shopping. Things here EVEN cheaper.

They were selling these adorable kitties and bunnies and it was around SGD 7 each?! if i didn't have 3 dogs or any airport hassles i would have bought one home! Shopped till evening and went to the airport thereafter.

There were some delays so we reached SG about 6am? Tired max. Bought a bottle of wine for sunny's dad at duty free but i broke it accidentally T.T Bought for him and his brother stuffs too.

And... this concludes our trip. So spontaneous recently, which isn't a bad thing because we have to allow some surprises in your life no? But bad thing is i have a lot of shit to catch up too. So i foresee busier days ahead!

Thailand Trip

Had an impromptu trip to Thailand with my sisters near mid July. We had actually intended to go but never knew when we're gonna do it, until my LW just came into our room one morning and we just spontaneously said  yes. Of course, making last minute decisions will mean having some troubles along the way - collecting passport, booking flights and stuff. We ended up booking up flights 2 hours before check-in time and collecting the passport on the day itself! Thanks sunny for sending me to the airport after printing the hotel and flight vouchers for me! < 3

Taking Tiger Airways to Thailand! I was totally ecstatic to be in the window seat even though im 21 already lol. I just never get sick taking photos of clouds and stuff. Both my sisters slept before the plane took off zzz still want to fight with me for window seat some more lehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

While waiting to board. 'You taking a photo now right?'

Taking a photo of this man telling us not to take photos. LOL his poses can be meme-fied HAHA

So there you go, here comes (not so) cliche photos of the clouds and sky:

Well I like this photo above because its like the sea and sky are joined together, no distinction at all.

We flew so high up( i think) that I can't even see any clouds above me.

Liwen who studied geography most among us, tells us this should be the Mekong River which is VERY long. I'm just like woahhhhhhh meanders are cool #noob

And yes it also means we reached Thailand.

And after one hour of cab ride, we reached our hotel - Grand Diamond~ I personally love it there, the bellboys were super friendly and the rooms.. WILL YOU JUST LOOK AT IT

As the hotel was located SUPER near platinum mall, we  ate dinner, walked around for a bit and we slept early for well deserved good night rest.

Woke up super early like 8am the next day and we headed off to Chatuchak,  since it's only open for weekends! Going there fully for the intention to buy dog beds and clothes. Dreaded in the first place because we didn't had a good experience there the last time - super hot and sweaty and it was uncomfortable. It was better this time though, not so hot and the toilets were clean and air conditioned!

Had super lots of ang mohs there I don't know why. We saw a group of local models posing around for pictures, I think it was for some advertising campaign or some sort. I had a very good time there and we took the local tuk tuk back to enjoy the breeze.

If you are wondering, my dogs look like this now:-

Dino Bobby

And Happy settling nicely on her new bed and clothes. She super vain so she super happy hahaha

We went back to the hotel to bath and headed to MBK. Was our first time there and we wanted to have sushi buffet thing for dinner which seems popular. But the queue was so long and the number moving so slow we decided to just settle dinner in another place instead. Went to Tepp Restaurant!

Got totally fooled by their sodas, we thought it was ice cream soda danggg. We walked around aftermath, and went over to Pantip Plaza (IT Mall) followed by their night markets and headed back for the night.

The next day, woke up super early around 8am and went to platinum mall hoping to find food. Mall just opened though so we decided to settle our stomachs at this ala-carte sushi stall. Yes we love japanese food. It was damn fresh especially the Salmon sushimi and the mentaiko OH DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Sitting down, joking and laughing around for a bit and off to we head to the Pratunam Market. Yes it's super close all we had to do is cross the street and walk.

The people at Pratunam Market was very excited that day you could feel it. Realised that they seem to be filming a variety show there and i asked the locals what was causing such excitement, and found out it was a popular actress which guested in that show. So pretty! Sky suddenly decided to rain so after a few hours of shopping we went to Indra Square's Black Canyon for tea-break!

Mini jawbreakers selling at their vending machines~

Bought some doughnuts for ourselves and also the hotel staff as they helped me with the internet issue that night and bellboys were really kind and hospitable!

Shopped around the area once more before heading back to hotel to rest our sore feet. Bubbles pro HL helped prepare hot bubble bath to soak our feet in. Felt SO much better.

Headed out again to buy food home - the coconut drink was fantabulous, and cup noodles after bathing and packing. Such a lovely and warn night.

Checked out from the hotel the next day but left our baggage at the concierge and went to Shibuya 19, this new mall (I think). Quite small, similar to the Grand Diamond Plaza in the hotel itself, and we managed to comb it pretty fast. Headed back to Pratunam and Indra Square to buy another suitcase for our buys and also Pantip plaza for earpiece before taking a cab to airport to catch our flight. Keep humming this Shibya 19 song played there and both my sisters got the song stuck in their heads after I keep singing it to them lol

Yes, reached SG around midnight and thank god I have my dad to bring us home. Most awesome trip so far. Now I love Thailand!

PS: Wondered why I posted so fast? Because I am going to Guangzhou LATER! Yes flight at 8pm now 4.37pm BYE
