Greetings from Thailand!

Hello. I am in Thailand with my sisters right now. Ikr, I didn't expect this too. LW just came into our room on a Friday morning and just asked. So here we are. Wanted to go long ago but couldn't decide so one question seals the deal LOL. HL didn't collect her passport early and she couldn't make it in time for the previous day before coming Thailand so we couldn't book the plane too! Extremely last minute I know. On friday itself my sisters went to ICA 8am in the morning while I packed and booked the earliest flight (cheapest among all airlines of course). Met Sunny as he helped me to print my hotel and plane details and sent me to Changi Airport.

Extremely excited as this is my first trip with my sisters YAY!!!!! (Genting not counted lol)

New York New York & Xin Wang

Managed to catch up with my friends shortly after my exams! Had New York New York for dinner and Xin Wang for drinks after that. Thanks Candy Cherelle Weishan Ricky Benson Yixuan for such a wonderful gathering!

Manhattans

Met the KPMG peeps (reb me ben foong) today. Was a really good gathering for me because I really have not seen some of them the LONGEST time. I met Reb 4 months ago, Foong last graduation (OMG) and Benedict two freaking years ago. But I'm glad we managed to meet and chat today. Was really fun to chat and joke around and i still felt as close to them as i was 2 years ago. It was really nice :)

Met Reb first because the other 2 was delayed by work. I wanna sigh (in a good way) at this point because once we two met we just couldn't stop talking, and we ended up at lavender instead of city hall. Really ah sometimes, we are so alike it's so funny! And i made her laugh again. I think that's nice, she always needed a few laughs.

Finally met all of them and we went ahead for dinner at Manhattans. Benedict bought Groupon which was really nice of him and we had quite a long chat over dinner. It was quite short though, and we left shortly after Reb had to leave first. Benedict was funny as usual, giving out big laughs now and then and making really witty jokes, telling us about his stories and what happened to KPMG after.

Took the train with Foong back home and had another really nice chat with her. Im so glad that we are still on good terms and i really think she is a good friend and we still get to update each other on life without awkwardness. I hope we can all get to meet again, this time with Cheryl who is finally back from UK after a year, and also Tingwen who is currently so busy in EY now.

PS: Did i mention that Reb wrote a post about me? It was so sweet T.T

So grateful overall to catch up with friends again. :)

Good Enough

Sometimes I think to myself - What is considered enough? When will I ever be good enough? Good enough for who, compared to what?

I guess sometimes the perception of quality of life is inevitably compared with other individuals, even if the basis to it is incomparable, like comparing apples to oranges. Then again it occurs because they have something you want, or admire right at this flickering moment. It's like a vicious cycle, it happens but doesn't stay for long.

I compare. I really do. I compare to all the peers and friends that are in my age; what they are supposed to be doing now and I question myself - Can i keep up? Is it enough? I know that as life branches out in different ways, comparison is futile. You lack an aspect in one, but have more than the other. Of course along the way you doubt your own abilities and what you can do - hence the reason for this post. Doubt. Doubt about everything and nothing. I have to write it all down to structure my thoughts.

In many ways i don't think i am good enough. It may seem negative, but i think having some of this attitude provides humility and act as a catalyst to help fire up more motivation and responsibility, pushing you against your limits.

But i guess there is a tilt to it - too much of it makes you NOT want to self improve, maybe because you think you didn't had it in you in the first place. So why bother? Ironic isn't it.

I don't know what I am feeling or am supposed to feel now in this aspect. It's like a void. I don't want to know, knowing isn't always right. All I want to do is to get rid of this stale feeling and be happy. Now that's something I think I am good at.

Dumpling festival

My family decided to make dumplings again this year, not so much as 15kg last year, it was hellish we ended around 3am for that! Making dumplings isn't an easy feat, preparations take place as early as about a week ago!

Cooking the mushrooms. I love mushrooms so looking at this picture makes me SUPER hungry right now. Not my fault if this post ends abruptly lol

Bicky had to soak these leaves one week before to ensure that the leaves are clean. I heard that those stalls selling dumplings don't even soak them so thoroughly, and their dumplings just mainly consist of a lot of rice and some meat only and they sell at such ridiculous prices! That's why i love eating home-made ones. :) Anyway after few days they will give out this smell so i often have to cover it with a lid. Those leaves unused will be dried and stored to be used next time. Yes please don't throw and waste okay?!

 

I took 2 hours plus off my studying time to help around. Every year i will forget how to wrap, but after a while i remembered already. Since im left handed it isn't really easy to knot them. But oh well, practice makes perfect!

And.. DONE! Yes I was damn happy to be the guinea pig for the tasting. It was good~ Mom was happy and no sooner after wrapping the dumplings she started calling her friends and delivered them to their houses. It is really a good tradition yearly, to make them and share with others. I remembered bringing some to my workplace last year, and this year, i delivered some to friends as well, for those who told me they wanted and those who helped me last year :)

Sadly, its the last time we are making those.. so i'll always remember this experience. After all i grew up eating those. This year is really the year of change.You'll find out soon..

 Nights all I'm gonna drink some soup and enjoy the weather. It's the first day of school tomorrow. Cheers to new beginnings, and hopefully no more last minute revision =/

Ricky's Party

Ricky's birthday party with his friends that took place 3 months back, there was so many people in the party and was quite happy to gather with my friends once again. Birthday boy was already quite drunk when it was time to blow the cake and sing the birthday song. Love the music it was good. He better like his present hahahahaha
