Guangzhou w Dad

Just came back from Thailand after a week, my dad called on a tuesday and asked if we wanna go GZ on Thursday. Yes another spontaneous trip. Said yes immediately and tickets and hotels were settled by dad. Had some hesitation as to whether we were REALLY going on thursday as Dad had problems finding a flight to 石家庄 (Capital of Hebei Province) for a business trip. But he managed to find a way, which was to fly on wednesday evening. So yeah..  we took Jetstar @ Terminal 1!

In a way this looks so simple to figure but I AM SO INTRIGUED BY IT. I can't stop staring I really cant. It's fascinating! Okay everything is fascinating because I seldom take a flight to Terminal 1.

Yep took a 4 hour night flight. It was one of the trips which we slept totally well the night before (assumed trip was on thursday instead of wednesday so didnt had insomnia due to too much excitement) and we were totally bored on the plane. Slept a wee bit though.

Went to the same hotel as before - 如家快捷酒店. It was quite small thus hard to find the way there. Had some difficulties reaching the hotel, met a dishonest cab driver but luckily we got there eventually. Had cup noodles for supper as it was already midnight and it tasted so bland. THANK GOD for that because the seasoning didn't smell good.

Dad's plan was to leave alone the next day but he ended up postponing the trip a day later to save time due to the inconvenient flight time. Anyway, he was off to business stuff in GZ anyway so we just explored the place ourselves since it was my sisters third time there and my second time already. Impression of GZ is still the same - they speak mainly cantonese and mandarin, and they are quite rude actually from my perspective. Said thank you to most of the vendors but success rate is 0%. In the end you just don't bother already. And they just like to push/shove people around like it's nothing. I guess it's their culture? If you don't buy from their shop that's it they just give you a black face. Some will still mutter under their breathe and nag you. Yeah.. and you must be super dare to bargain because they mark up price to tourists more than 50%! HORRIBLE. But their price SUPER CHEAP EVEN CHEAPER THAN THAILAND OMGGGG We spent that day shopping and walking around for a while, and went to arcade.

HERE IS  THE BIG BIG  广场!! Many malls built around it and there were many stalls open from our hotel area to the mall and hence there was a lot to shop! It was SUPER hot even the wind that was blowing was making me sweat like crazy!

Yeah saw another filming squad that day.

Arcade so damn bloody cheap, 40 tokens for SGD4! The normal rate is about 3 tokens per game (Max) so yes I was just so bloody happy. We could spend a good 2 hours playing inside!  I think we played the arcade a couple of times and tried house of the dead. Because among my sisters I suck at Time Crisis Im proud to say Im good at House of the Dead *tears*

Anyway we spend the day shopping and rested at Pizza hut for a short tea-break before meeting dad in the evening. Yes we bought matching rings!

Dad took us to 岗顶站 via metro to this local shopping mall, equivalent to BHG or Isetan in Singapore. Clothes were going on a 90% sale!?!?!? I haven't seen it in SG yet lol and yes we went crazy

Wanted to have the hotel buffet within the hotel - 3SGD per person but we didnt wake up early, enough, but we managed to have it the next day though!  It wasn't grand, but it was sufficient. We had a good meal, talking and binging lol

Saw a scratchcard booth and we went there to try our luck. costs like SGD 2 per card and since it's for a good cause, why not? Liwen and I kept winning back the SGD 2 so we ended up scratching a lot cards! LW got like 5 times the vendor got a bit irritated cos we keep calling him. (Can't remember which day it was...second day i think)

We were so early that we had to wait for the malls to open. Meanwhile we walked around and this jewellery shop - Luk Fook is opening YET another branch so we went to see the lion dance ceremony

It was so draggy we left halfway lol

Oh there was Saizeriya there so we ate there for 3 times? LOL it was good, possibly better than Singapore. They didn't have the chicken stew and i didn't dare try the escargots there though. Oh and DEFINITELY cheaper than in Singapore. We ordered so much and it always comes down to about SGD 20 TOTAL BILL

Yeah had so much clams i am gonna just abstain from it for a while now..

We had mani-pedi and we turned in early, and slacked at the hotel. The red ice tea is a MUST BUY because it's so damn good we drank like 5 bottles for 2 days! Crazy. Anyway dad suggested going to Macau and postpone our flight back but im like nooo flight tickets expensive so yeah..

It was either a saturday or friday night and there was SO MANY PEOPLE

Dad dropped us off to 状元坊 the last day for some last minute shopping. Things here EVEN cheaper.

They were selling these adorable kitties and bunnies and it was around SGD 7 each?! if i didn't have 3 dogs or any airport hassles i would have bought one home! Shopped till evening and went to the airport thereafter.

There were some delays so we reached SG about 6am? Tired max. Bought a bottle of wine for sunny's dad at duty free but i broke it accidentally T.T Bought for him and his brother stuffs too.

And... this concludes our trip. So spontaneous recently, which isn't a bad thing because we have to allow some surprises in your life no? But bad thing is i have a lot of shit to catch up too. So i foresee busier days ahead!
